A Discussion of the Article ...

A discussion of the article as it relates to content in Chapter 1 on research and one-to-one computing

The type of software application in each was different (Roblyer, M., and Doering, A. 2013, p. 11). For example the private school software to for scaffolding while the other two schools us software that the teacher was comfortable with (p.49). I do not think all of the schools really planned out why they were going to use technology except they were told. One of the schools were focused on mastering set objective in order to make sure their school meet “Adequate Yearly Progress (p17). In the book it states, “ the power of technology is a two edged sword, especially for edge education.” In the article this was expressed because not all the schools had computers for everyone ( Drayton et. al. 2010, p.7), so those students at urban and private schools has one-to-one computers but not at the rural school. This would be an example of digital divide. Also, the private school has students with special needs so they used technology to meet their needs with is what all schools should do (p.18). Finally, in the article, there was no mention of legal or ethical issues such as software piracy, use policy, or cybercheating (p. 18 & 19).
