Thoughts on Twitter

According to Lane (2016, January 8), twitter is a great for professional development. First, I am able to stay up-to-date on educational information. Additionally, it allows me to collaborate with other educators about specific issues and concerns, which can improve my abilities to assist my students in becoming life-long learners. For instance, I can learn more information about certain topics such as “instructional technology.”   In addition, I learned that by using twitter I can collaborate with other educators about specific issues and concerns, which can improve my abilities to assist my students in becoming life-long learners. Therefore, I know I will start to use twitter more because I will be able to receive valuable information to help me become a better teacher, which will benefit my students.
Also, I can use twitter as a form of communication. For example, I can keep parents up-to-dated on what is happening in class. Plus, I can tweet reminders about their children’s assignments and I can send reminders to the students, too (Miller, (n.d.). Additionally, I learned that I could use twitter for conducting surveys regarding lessons or other issues.  To add, I could use twitter to have students follow issues in the news and to write stories or poems.  I could use it to have students share their notes with their classmates and to ask questions, too.  Moreover, twitter is an excellent way to start a  Professional Learning Network, which will have a positive impact on me professionally, as well as my students (Fitzpatrick, 2018, July 12 ).
Finally,  I understand the value of hashtags. Hashtags allow you to do specific searches for instance, if I am interested in educational policy, I search #educational policy to find all the tweets about it (Day, 2017, July 19). To add,  Neil ( n.d ) provided me with the best educators to follow, too, which make twitter an excellent resource. I have found twitter to be useful in finding information on educational subjects. Twitter has up to date information concerning education and is easy to use. I have found new and trendy educational tools on twitter. I am excited to use it in my classroom!
